MarketingSherpas looking for a full time web designer/developer to join our Internet team. We are a profitable and award-winning online publisher devoted to improving, testing, and improving yet again our Web sites and email newsletters.
We are only considering candidates located near Boulder, Colorado who are willing (and experienced at) working from home; or candidates available to work in our HQ offices in Warren, Rhode Island (75 minutes from Boston.) The position is for an advanced-junior or intermediate level candidate, but a prior history of success in collaborating remotely is essential for either locations.
- Solid knowledge of XHTML / CSS / JavaScript
- Strong design and layout skills
- Good understanding of Web Standards, usability, and accessibility practices, or a willingness to pick them up
- Hand coding chops are essential, experience designing in dynamic sites, some knowledge of PHP or MySQL a plus
- We work with busy publishing schedules, so strong organization skills and a commitment to keeping deadlines is a must
- Bonus points given for keeping up with the latest ideas in design and code. Who is your favorite designer or blogger?
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as, take art direction
- Usual software skills are assumed: Photoshop, Illustrator, code editor, FTP, etc.
- Absolutely must have a portfolio of samples. Please include links to an online portfolio or a list of urls. Also please include a brief description of your role for each sample. This is also your opportunity to explain where you might have done anything different had you been completely in control of the final product.
